The Cosmics are a precision funk trio built on rhythm, restraint, and raw transmission. Comprised of Nicky Bomba (drums & vocals), Aaron Saxon (guitar & vocals), and Michael Caruana (keys & vocals), the band draws deep influence from the disciplined funk traditions of James Brown, The JBs, The Meters, The Bar-Kays, and the forward-thinking Afrofuturism of Sun Ra and Parliament.

This is funk as a system — tight, hypnotic, and physical. Drums, guitar, and keys interlock as a single engine, driven by groove-first arrangements and rhythmic vocals designed for movement rather than ornamentation. There’s no drift, no excess — just locked-in momentum and undeniable feel.

While their sound nods to the golden era of 1970s funk, The Cosmics are not a revival act. Their music is future-facing, minimal, and intentional — drawing on decades of shared lineage from projects including Bomba and The Truth, and distilling it into something lean, modern, and forceful.

The Cosmics don’t chase the cosmos — they transmit it.
