Fusion on Fitzroy Street at George Lane with Rebecca Barnard & Wilbur Wilde

We’re excited to be a part of Fusion on Fitzroy Street on Sat, Sept 6 - an arvo/evening of jumping jazz in 18 different venues in the precinct, including ours!

 

Between 3.30pm – 5.30pm we’ll be hosting the incredible Rebecca Barnard & Wilbur Wilde.  Rebecca Barnard is an Australian singer, songwriter, producer, and musician. She was the lead singer of the band Rebecca's Empire from 1993 to 2000 and has forged a solo career since her debut album, Fortified, was released in 2006. With a versatile musical range, she has appeared on recordings by many Australian artists, including Paul Kelly, Tim Rogers, Renée Geyer, Deborah Conway and more. She released her first solo jazz album, The Night We Called It A Day, in 2023.

 

Vocalist and saxman Wilbur Wilde has been a fixture on the Australian music scene since Ol’55 got together in Sydney in 1975. Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons occupied another four years along with tours and recording dates with, amongst others, Skyhooks, Cold Chisel, Kevin Borich and Split Enz. He is best known for his work as member of the house band on the popular tv show “Hey Hey It’s Saturday”. In the ensuing years, Willy has continued to perform live with all sorts of bands, right around the country, including Wilbur Wilde and The Trouble Makers.
