Helen Ryder (Single Launch) + Brooke Taylor

Australian singer-songwriter Helen Ryder returns to George Lane to launch the first single Magnetic Field from her upcoming second album Love Over Hate. Joining Helen will be Bruce Haymes (Paul Kelly, Renee Geyer) on keys, Shane Reilly (Lost Ragas, Emma Donovan) on pedal steel and guitar, Stephen Hadley (Tex Perkins) on bass and Tony Floyd (The Black Sorrows) on drums, with special guest Brooke Taylor opening the show with her beautifully crafted songs.

An exquisitely gifted vocalist and natural storyteller, Helen’s knack for creating moving and immersive music has only heightened on her new album release, Love Over Hate due out in late 2025. A follow up to her lauded 2015 debut album, Someday Love, Love Over Hate finds Helen in her most polished and assured form to date.

Magnetic Field is a luminous outing weaving pop hues and gossamer melodies with Helen donning rose coloured glasses to charm and capture the warmth and joy of a new beginning. “It captures a brand-new love and how it radiates out into the world to create positivity for all. I wrote this on piano playing a lot of Major Seventh chords, for their dreamy quality, and used my higher, breathier voice. I wanted to introduce my second album with this uplifting feeling and can’t wait to play Magnetic Field and my new songs live.”
